The Company Accents was founded by Denis Bonenfant - a native of France and fluent in French, English, Italian and German. Denis began his career in the language world as a freelance translator and a leisure travel interpreter. His quick wit, entrepreneurial spirit, technical adeptness and desire to improve upon the quality of language services he witnessed led him to Accents. In 1995 he and his wife started Accents in San Diego, California, USA where it is still head quartered. The Owners Denis Bonenfant - has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at San Diego. His fortes are his scientific and technical background, his perfectionist attitude and a broad linguistic knowledge. Denis oversees quality control and the technical side of Accents. Jodi Berger Bonenfant - has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Jodi is a native of Los Angeles and is fluent in French and English. Her experience includes management positions with companies such as AT&T, Wells Fargo, American Airlines and Balboa Travel. Jodi handles sales/marketing and customer relations. The Standards All of our translators are native speakers of their target language. We consider the language skills of a native speaker to be irreplaceable. We also test translators' command of their acquired language (i.e. their source language). Moreover we seek completion of a higher education diploma in the country and language of origin. These precautions are taken to provide translations with the highest level of language that are both faithful and idiomatically correct. Not only do we care about language and education credentials, but we also choose translators based on their expertise in a subject. This element is particularly crucial when dealing with computers, engineering, medicine, law or any other specialized subject. Naturally, we use automated translation tools in conjunction with traditional translation methods. These tools are especially useful for their specialized dictionaries and in the development of customized glossaries. Thus ensuring accuracy and consistency of terminology. Our translations are reviewed by proofreaders according to our high standards.
